Downtown Kamloops

Traveling to Kamloops from the West you'll travel through Aberdeen Area take the Columbia Street exit off the Trans-Canada Highway then passing through the Sahali Area  continue down Columbia Street past the various motels to 3rd Avenue. 

You may notice Royal Inland Hospital on your right at this intersection. Turn Left onto 3rd Avenue and you will enter the heart of Kamloops.

Caution: There is a school zone 1 block down on 3rd Avenue remember to reduce speed during school hours.

Downtown Kamloops has numerous businesses, shops, boutiques and retailers possible too many to list but we'll try.

Some downtown accommodations include the Coast Canadian Inn a 4 star Canada Select hotel and the Executive Inn, Plaza Heritage Hotel & Thompson Hotels all rated as 3 1/2 star Canada Select hotels and both are located on Victoria Street in downtown Kamloops.  If you are on a budget the Fountain Motel is a 2 1/2 star Canada Select motel on Columbia Street and only 4 short blocks away from the "Main Street" businesses of downtown Kamloops.

Victoria Street is considered the "Main Street" of Kamloops and as such is lined with business and retail shops of a wide variety. Here you'll find everything from elegant dining to fast food. Cafes to coffee shops. Specialty boutiques to thrift stores. Antique & Collectables to Dollar Stores. On a rainy day try a visit to the Kamloops Museum, Kamloops Art Gallery or shop indoors at Thompson Park Mall all located in the Heart of Kamloops.

In the hot summer days Riverside Park is a favorite for residents and tourists alike. This park is about 2 city blocks long and 1 city block wide, has a rose garden, tennis courts, squash courts, picnic tables, a children's playground and children's water park, a concession providing hot and cold drinks & food, washroom facilities, plenty of benches along the beach front

Riverside Park also has a Bandshell/Stage used for various events year round including Music In The Park entertainment during the months of July and August. Music In The Park provides Free Music entertainment daily starting at 7pm during the months of July and August.

Next to Riverside Park is Interior Savings Center home of the famous  Kamloops Blazers (WHL) Hockey Team. Interior Savings Center with almost 6,000 seats  also hosts a variety of other event including concerts, sporting events, shows, conventions, etc...
